Finally, Some Belly Shots

We have been very negligent about the belly shots this time around. I have to admit, vanity plays a part. Often by the time Andrew is home from work I'm already in my sweatpants, feeling and looking tired, hair askew from the afternoon nap. Not feeling particularly photogenic. We may regret having weekly progress photos, but we definitely have some much better images than we got during the first two pregnancies!

Check out Andrew's Photog Blog to see the bump!

And Baby Makes Five

We are thrilled, blessed and honoured to announce that a brand new member of our family is due to make an appearance in early September 2009!

I am 12 weeks and doing well. Have had the standard first trimestre fatigue but I'm not sick and grateful for that. I am also grateful to be able to nap with Micah almost every single day. That sure helps!!

I'm journalling about this pregnancy on a separate blog. If you are interested in following that journey, keep an eye on And Baby Makes Five. I will put a link on the sidebar of this blog.

Thandie Newton on Pregnancy and Childbirth

I really enjoyed this quote from a recent The Sunday Times interview with Thandie Newton:

“People talk about pregnant women as if they’ve gone a bit mad,” she says. “You know, ‘She’s a bit hormonal.’ But I felt as though I’d been introduced to myself for the first time. You become totally uncompromising, wild and fierce.”

She gave birth to both her girls at home in a birth pool. “Birth is very challenging in the best way possible. Every fibre of your being is alive. It’s like you are conducting electricity; literally creating something. I’d like to give birth every year if I could, just for that experience.”
